Appius Design Suite

An extra gear.

The Appius Design Suite in Eppan is one of the success stories I love to tell, not only because of the project itself, but also because of the warm welcome of Ms Ingrid and her family. We met a few years ago, when the hotel was still being opened. I still remember as if it were yesterday: we were seen at the Bolzano Trade Fair and shortly afterwards we met directly at Ingrid's house, with her husband and children, to present samples of our armchairs and fabrics. An informal meeting that marked the beginning of a special collaboration.

For the breakfast room, Ingrid chose the Toronto model armchairs and stools, characterised by an elegant Eco Nubuck in a solid colour for the seat and a delicate design on the backrest, with black legs. In the lobby, on the other hand, they opted for the sofa, pouf and armchair model Dublino, with coordinated fabrics in hazelnut tones: backrest and seat in a solid colour and a geometric design in the same shades for the cushions and backrest band.

Geometric and python designs to give the new luxury suites an edge.

Subsequently, we were again called in to renew the armchairs in the rooms. Although they were new, they did not meet the taste of Mrs Ingrid, who made me feel particularly appreciative by telling us: ‘you have an extra gear!’ So, we chose the Bristol armchair: two pieces in ochre velvet and another two in olive green, all with an elegant python design.

To complete the decor, we made runners in the same fabric as the armchairs and decorative cushions for the beds, ensuring perfect colour coordination. In the largest room, next to the outdoor jacuzzi, we placed puff bags made of polystyrene and covered with a water-repellent fabric derived from recycled plastic, produced in Piedmont. Each piece has a QR code, to trace the entire production and recycling cycle.

Ingrid was always kind and warm, which made the work even more rewarding. It was a project I will never forget, both for the beauty of the design and the welcome we received.
