An unusual oasis of relaxation.
We are in the heart of Ravenna, at the Grand Hotel Mattei, an oasis of modernity that we discovered thanks to the owners' curiosity during the Rimini trade fair. They did not know our brand, nor had they visited our website, but the impression they got from touching our outdoor products was decisive. They chose a product that added a touch of class to the previously ordinary entrance of their hotel. The idea was to create two islands on either side of the main entrance, cosy spaces for evening aperitifs and moments of relaxation.
The Grand Hotel Mattei is a lively business hotel with constant meetings and conferences. The challenge was to create a functional and at the same time aesthetic environment, especially considering the scorching morning sun and the pleasant afternoon breeze. Our ‘Rio de Janeiro’ collection found its ideal stage here. Eight armchairs, four sofas and four overlapping round and rectangular coffee table compositions transformed the outdoor space into a refuge of comfort and style.
A design dream come true.
The choice of fabrics was an adventure in itself. The IRIS fabric, coordinated with the knitted fabric for the cushions, in a refined shade of grey brown, was the star. A 100% recycled fabric, produced in Piedmont, with a touch of sustainability that makes us proud. Each cushion bears a barcode sewn into the covers, a sort of passport to transparency, allowing customers to verify the entire production batch.
There was no lack of light-hearted moments, such as when customers told us about their passion for luxury restaurants, while we joked about the fact that, in our area, the pinnacle of gastronomy is represented by the Calandre, a Michelin-starred restaurant. The delivery, with temperatures approaching 34 degrees, was an ordeal, but the customer's satisfaction repaid every drop of sweat.
With this project, we not only added a new chapter to our history, but also paved the way for future collaborations, perhaps to refurbish the chairs in the rooms. And, who knows, maybe one day we will find ourselves here again, talking about how a dream made of fabrics and design became reality.
