Four for the price of two!
The Hotel Vernel project in Santa Cristina was a fascinating and constructive experience for us, resulting from our collaboration with the Ortisei-based studio Art Domus. Not long before, we had introduced ourselves as designers and producers at their studio, and were soon contacted for an ongoing project at Hotel Vernel. While selecting the colour palette proposed by the interior designer, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner. After some tests, we went in person to present our proposals to the Perathoner family.
They chose the Jefferson model, upholstered in a green fabric supplied by the local upholsterer, Phil from Gardena Decor. The fabric chosen was a quilted velvet for the inside backrest and a plain colour for the seat and backrest. They requested a stiffer rubber, with density 50. They requested a stiffer rubber, with density 50, a specification that was later revised by Mr Perathoner to give more softness and comfort to the seats.
During the project, the number of chairs requested gradually increased from 32 to 36, with further modifications to the rooms. They also added a Paris model bench for a niche at the entrance, near the reception desk, and two swivel Austin armchairs for the office.
Style, elegance and freshness for the restaurant, what a sight.
Despite some unforeseen events and changes to the initial requests, the end result was very much appreciated. The room, renovated with our furniture, acquired a new elegance and freshness.
During the handover, we had a funny moment with Mr Perathoner. When Rita and I arrived with the truck, he greeted us with a slightly worried air, asking if the work wasn't too much for just two people. I replied with a smile, reassuring him that we would manage the assembly according to the agreed schedule. His concern soon turned into admiration when he saw our efficiency and professionalism. It was a nice moment that reinforced mutual trust and made the day even more rewarding.
In the end, Mr Perathoner was extremely satisfied with the work done, and we are happy to have contributed to improving Hotel Vernel. Despite the challenges and changing demands, the experience proved to be rewarding. This project proved once again that true design comes from the fusion of professionalism and creative honesty. We are proud to have brought a touch of elegance and functionality to this beautiful hotel.
