A well-deserved award!
The Hotel Olympic in Vigo di Fassa is one of those places that enchant at first glance. The structure is beautiful, with attention to the smallest details, and its fame is well deserved. The hotel, winner four years ago of ‘4 Hotel’, Bruno Barbieri's programme, is a prestigious reference for us. A few years ago, during one of our usual catalogue distributions, I decided to stop there, even though it was not on the tour. It was a fortuitous decision, because I met Mr Toresani, the manager, who immediately expressed interest in a sofa and armchair for a specific room.
By a stroke of luck, I had samples with me in the van. I showed Toresani our collections and the available fabrics, and it was love at first sight. He confirmed the order on the spot for an armchair and a sofa from the Santa Monica collection, as well as a small armchair from the Toronto collection. All three pieces were chosen with legs in natural colour and a printed velvet with a faux python effect in shades of olive green, combined with a plain seat in the same colour. A touch of class for an already refined room.
For our collections and fabrics it was love at first sight.
During our periodic itinerary to document the best designs of the year, accompanied by our trusted photographer, I decided to drop by for a greeting to director Toresani. Unexpectedly, I was greeted by the owner, a person of infectious kindness and calm. Despite the fact that I had not been able to schedule a photo session at this hotel in advance, she opened the room for us and allowed us to document this small but precious design furniture project, showing a rare availability.
Although we only furnished one room, this collaboration was one of the most significant for us. I was so impressed by the ambience and the people in this hotel that I chose it for one of the planned overnight stays during the project delivery season. Hotel Olympic is not just a place to stay, but a showcase of elegance and quality, and we are proud to be among the professionals who have made a small contribution to keeping its splendour alive.
