There are places where time seems to preserve precious stories. The Hotel Corona in Cortina d'Ampezzo is one of them: a historic residence run by the Rimoldi family since the early 1900s, where the elegance of old-world hospitality intertwines with a refined collection of modern art.
It all began when Mariachiara Rimoldi, capturing the soul of this place, dreamed of breathing new life into the lobby and bar area. She sought seating that would engage with the warmth of the antique wood and the personality of the artworks on display, without sacrificing the most important feeling: making every guest feel at home.
From browsing the pages of our catalog to meeting the entire Rimoldi family in person, the connection was immediate. The choice fell on the Nadir models, in the armchair and sofa versions.
For the upholstery, we chose a soft, stretchy, hammered velvet. A textured, enveloping texture, designed to enhance the softness of the padding and provide a sensation of pure comfort to the touch. The shades reflect the region:
Verde Bosco, a profound tribute to the woods and peaks that surround Cortina.
Ochre, a warm and luminous accent that warms the atmosphere and embraces the historic woods of the structure.
Every detail has been designed to create an experience. The Nadir armchair welcomes those who sit in it with a fluid and sinuous movement, a small gesture of well-being that follows the body and transforms a break into a moment of total relaxation.
The harmonious design then extended to the bar area adjacent to the reception. Here, we revitalized the existing historic armchairs and benches with matching cushions and new upholstery, creating a seamless and color-coordinated connection between the spaces.
Furnishing a place so rich in history and beauty was a fascinating and delicate challenge. The end result is a warm, poetic, and welcoming space, where the art of living meets the wonder of the Dolomites.
