There are some pieces of furniture that capture your attention instantly. That's exactly what happened in October, during the Bolzano trade fair, when we had the pleasure of meeting Laura and Gloria Scalet of the Hotel Vienna in San Martino di Castrozza. The owners were looking for a distinctive piece to renovate their lobby, and we had an instant connection: they fell in love with our new Evelyn armchair, which we were previewing at that very event.
The client's brief was clear and contemporary: to add a touch of distinct elegance to the entrance and create a striking, visually striking corner—an "Instagrammable" location—that would welcome guests, instantly conveying a sense of novelty, thoughtfulness, and sophistication from the moment they step foot in the hotel.
To transform two armchairs into true furnishing gems, we meticulously selected the fabrics during a subsequent meeting on-site. The true highlight of the customization was the refined combination of two matching fabrics in silver tones: for the backrest, a rich, dynamic, and deep crushed velvet; for the seat, a plain, simple, and soft velvet.
This combination, thanks to a very luminous fabric that reacts beautifully to natural and artificial light, gave the seats a unique shine and personality.
The attention to detail didn't stop with the upholstery. To ensure perfect color harmony with the surrounding environment, the armchair legs—made of fine ash wood—were painted to order, replicating the exact shade of the coffee table already present in the lobby. The result is a perfectly integrated corner, where the new interacts with the existing in complete stylistic continuity.
The delivery of the Evelyn armchairs was the culmination of an exciting journey. The immense satisfaction expressed by Mrs. Gloria and the warm compliments received for the quality of the workmanship represent the most important milestone for us. This project at the Hotel Vienna was not just a design project, but the happy beginning of a collaboration destined to grow over time.
