Hideaway in the mountains.
Who would have ever imagined that a small hotel hidden in the mountains of Vermiglio could hold such a surprise? It all started thanks to a colleague who pointed out the Hotel Alpino to us. ‘Lara,’ he told me, ’Augusto at the Alpino needs little chairs. Bring him the catalogue!’ And so, with Rita at my side, we ventured out on this new mission.
After an initial presentation visit, it was Mr Augusto himself who contacted us to start designing the products he had in mind for his room. The choice fell on the Oland model, a small faux leather chair. But there was a problem. We had to identify by touch and sight alone the (exact) faux leather model already used in their benches. It took us a month of research, moving heaven and earth, to discover the manufacturer and secure the exact same finish.
Satisfaction and pleasant discoveries in the mountains.
Although at first glance the height between the new chairs and the old benches were identical to the nearest centimetre, Augusto pointed out to us that the seats on the chairs were lower, and he was right! In fact, as we later found out, the elastic straps of our chairs did make them more comfortable than the old ones, but at the price of lowering the height of the person sitting on them by a couple of centimetres compared to the bench. Of course, if a two-metre tall person sat down, they would find the chair a bit small, but you know, compromises are necessary. In the end, Mr Augusto seemed satisfied with the new look of the room.
In the end, the Hotel Alpino turned out to be a pleasant discovery. A little jewel, hidden in the mountains, definitely worth a stay, to be spent among great traditional cuisine and beautiful scenery.
