The Hotel Cristallo in Andalo is a wonderful family-run establishment run by Marika and her mother Maria Rosa. Our long-standing partnership, built on mutual respect, has recently seen an important new chapter: the project to expand the bar area and furnish eight new, exclusive suites.
1. The Bar Area: Elegance in continuity
When expanding the bar area, the goal was to maintain a chromatic coherence with the existing space, while introducing a strong element of innovation into the design.
The choice fell on the Clio chair, a model that combines a modern aesthetic with exceptional practicality. Marika opted for the beech wood version with a fully upholstered backrest. A key plus? The Clio chair is stackable: a versatile feature that allows the structure to easily store extra seats in a small space.
Clio stools were placed around a majestic central table, made from a tree trunk and finished in resin, creating a striking visual highlight.
The chosen upholstery is a soft velvet in shades of gray-brown, perfectly coordinated with the perimeter benches and in line with the color choices of the historic bar.
2. The New Suites: Comfort and tailor-made customization
For the eight new rooms in the building, the project required significant custom design work to optimize space without sacrificing a high-level aesthetic:
We ensured the complete supply of mattresses, box springs, and headboards, all precisely sized to fit each room's floor plan. A special padded safety barrier was also designed for the bunk beds, ensuring maximum safety for our youngest guests and preventing accidental bumps against the wall.
The relaxation area of the bedrooms is enhanced by matching seating. For the upholstery, we selected a printed velvet with an abstract pattern in shades of gray, brown, and dark taupe. This is not only a refined but also an extremely strategic choice: this fabric offers exceptional technical performance, is easy to clean, and is ideal for floor-level elements like poufs, as it beautifully masks dirt and everyday wear.
Every high-altitude project has its own pace, but this time the challenge was even more demanding. Between the end of the winter season and the hotel's extraordinarily early reopening—scheduled to host the Giro d'Italia finish in Andalo—the timeframe for completion was tight.
Thanks to Swiss planning and close collaboration with the client, we were able to deliver all the materials several days early. This allowed the assembly team to complete the setup with absolute precision.
The result? A flawless, razor-sharp delivery, a pink fashion show hosted in a flawless venue, and, as always, the complete and heartfelt satisfaction of Marika and Maria Rosa.
