There are projects that arise from careful research and others that seem to arrive at the right time.
The one created for the Hotel Lac Salin in Livigno certainly belongs to the second category.
The story of this project began almost unexpectedly. For several years, Rebecca, the hotel manager, had regularly received our catalog and browsed through its offerings with interest. When it came time to redesign one of the hotel's dining rooms, the latest edition of the catalog appeared on her desk at reception. A coincidence that immediately caught her attention and led to a phone call that would spark a new project.
The main requirement concerned the wooden benches already present in the room. The goal was to make them more comfortable and welcoming, without altering the space's identity and its Alpine character.
From the initial assessments, it was clear that a simple upholstery intervention would not be sufficient. The existing backrests featured special workmanship, depressions, and recesses that made it impossible to directly apply padding while maintaining a high-quality aesthetic.
The solution was to design and create new, completely custom-made upholstered benches. Each element was carefully crafted to conceal existing irregularities and create a continuous, harmonious, and visually clean line. This precision work required meticulous attention to detail and artisanal skill, but it resulted in a result that blended seamlessly into the context.
The choice of the room's main seating element was immediate. The Plaus armchair immediately emerged as the ideal solution thanks to its balanced proportions and aesthetic versatility.
For the upholstery, a green eco-nubuck fabric with a wool-effect print was chosen. A particularly successful color choice, it enhances the room's wood paneling.
The greenery introduces a contemporary note and evokes the welcoming feel of mountain environments. Finally, the chair legs have been left in their natural finish, helping to strengthen the overall balance of the project.
Thanks to rapid production times, the hotel was able to benefit from the new layout quickly. Our team also oversaw the assembly directly.
Rebecca and the owners' enthusiasm confirmed the project's success. For us, the greatest satisfaction was helping to enhance an already charming setting, adding that touch of comfort and beauty that makes every experience even more memorable.
