The Appius Design Suite in Appiano is one of the success stories I love to tell, not only for the project itself, but also for the warm welcome from Ingrid and her family. We met a few years ago, when the facility was still opening. I still remember it as if it were yesterday: we were spotted at the Bolzano Fair and shortly thereafter we found ourselves at Ingrid's home, with her husband and children, to present samples of our chairs and fabrics. An informal meeting that marked the beginning of a special collaboration.
For the breakfast room, Ingrid chose Toronto armchairs and stools, featuring elegant solid-color Eco Nubuck for the seat and a delicate pattern on the backrest, with black legs. In the lobby, they opted for the Dublinoo sofa, ottoman, and armchair, with coordinating fabrics in shades of hazelnut: solid-color backrest and seat, and a geometric pattern in the same shades for the cushions and the backrest band.
Geometric and python designs add a touch of oomph to the new luxury suites.
Subsequently, we were called again to renovate the armchairs in the rooms. Although they were new, they weren't to Mrs. Ingrid's taste, and she made me feel particularly appreciated by saying, "You're so much better!" So, we chose the Bristol armchair: two pieces in ochre velvet and two in olive green, each with an elegant python design.
To complete the decor, we created runners in the same fabric as the armchairs and decorative pillows for the beds, ensuring a perfect color match. In the largest bedroom, next to the outdoor jacuzzi, we placed beanbags made of polystyrene and covered with a water-repellent fabric made from recycled plastic, produced in Piedmont. Each piece features a QR code to track the entire production and recycling cycle.
Ingrid was always kind and warm, and this made the work even more rewarding. It's a project I'll never forget, both for the beauty of the design and the welcome we received.
