The Hotel Vernel project in Santa Cristina was a fascinating and rewarding experience for us, born from a collaboration with the Art Domus studio in Ortisei. Not long before, we had introduced ourselves as designers and manufacturers at their studio, and were soon contacted for a project underway at the Hotel Vernel. While selecting the color palette proposed by the interior designer, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner. After some tests, we went in person to present our proposals to the Perathoner family.
They chose the Jefferson model, upholstered in a green fabric supplied by local upholsterer, Phil of Gardena Decor. The fabric chosen was a quilted velvet for the inner backrest and a smooth velvet for the seat and backrest. They requested a firmer foam, with a density of 50. Mr. Perathoner later revised this specification to provide greater softness and comfort to the seats.
Throughout the project, the number of chairs requested gradually increased from 32 to 36, with further modifications to the spaces. They also added a Paris bench for an alcove in the entrance, near the reception, and two Austin swivel chairs for the office.
Style, elegance and freshness for the restaurant room, what a spectacle.
Despite some unexpected setbacks and changes to the initial brief, the final result was greatly appreciated. The room, renovated with our furnishings, took on a new elegance and freshness.
During the delivery, we shared a funny moment with Mr. Perathoner. When Rita and I arrived with the truck, he greeted us with a slightly worried expression, asking if the work wasn't too much for just two people. I responded with a smile, reassuring him that we would handle the assembly within the agreed-upon timeframe. His concern quickly turned to admiration when he saw our efficiency and professionalism. It was a beautiful moment that strengthened our mutual trust and made the day even more rewarding.
Ultimately, Mr. Perathoner expressed his satisfaction with the work completed, and we are thrilled to have contributed to the improvement of the Hotel Vernel. Despite the challenges and changing demands, the experience proved rewarding. This project demonstrated once again that true design comes from the fusion of professionalism and creative honesty. We are proud to have brought a touch of elegance and functionality to this splendid hotel.
