Revisiting the welcoming lobby of the Hotel in Montegrotto Terme.

I get a call from an interior designer who tells me about this renowned hotel in Montegrotto Terme. He suggests I redesign the first section of the spacious lobby, the one between the entrance and the bar, divided into two sections by the main entrance corridor.

We proposed a pair of alternating models, the Chicago (BS594P) and Cardiff (BS595P) armchairs, upholstered in a single iridescent fabric in shades of brown and powder blue. The Chicago (BS594L) sofa and poufs from our first Dublinoo (BS528L) collection were also placed.

The interesting challenge of this project, however, was the seat of the armchairs: the standard one is too low for the hotel's regular guests. 

New challenges for interior design.

At first, we simply respected the dimensional parameters specified by the client—45 cm instead of the traditional 40 cm—but we realized it resembled a booster seat. The human eye for aesthetics can be truly stubborn at times. After several attempts at tweaking the proportions, the technicians in the prototyping department proposed a truly creative solution: "Let's tilt the seat so that it's imperceptible to the touch, but perceptible to the eye." Bingo! It worked. Yet another opportunity to appreciate the essential teamwork.
