Villa Donini is one of those projects that stays in your heart. The client discovered us at the Rimini trade fair, without even taking the catalog or leaving a business card. He called saying he'd seen us at the fair, but we didn't have his contact information. I found out later that they'd appeared on the TV show "4 Hotel," coming in second, so much so that before the appointment, I watched the episode to explore the location.
At the meeting, we faced an intriguing challenge: furnishing the breakfast room, a splendid glass veranda with an English green frame. The previous wicker chairs were worn out, and the change was necessary. The meeting was long and complex, as we had to get five people to agree on the details. Everyone had different ideas, but everyone was in agreement about the final result!
Finally, after much discussion and consideration, we managed to develop a design that everyone agreed on. We opted for Lione armchairs for the smaller tables, while for the larger side tables, the Bristol armchair and Cloud were the final choices. On the sides, we added two Chicago-style sofas, specially modified with higher seats to serve as dining chairs.
Sparkling armchairs and chairs to give energy and vigor to the new room!
Before confirming the order, we prepared a detailed rendering, allowing the family to visualize the final result with 90% accuracy. The color choice was another crucial aspect: three shades of the same velvet—dove gray, bright yellow, and teal, Lucia's favorite color.
The final result was a thrill for everyone. The color scheme created a welcoming and vibrant space that met all expectations. Despite the formality of the negotiations, once the project was completed, we had the opportunity to have lunch with Lucia's parents. It was a pleasant moment, during which they shared their experience with the "4 Hotel" show.
The Villa Donini project was a perfect example of how collaboration, patience, and attention to detail can transform a simple breakfast room into a design gem. Not only did we create a functional and beautiful space, but we also had the opportunity to meet some truly welcoming and special people.
